Here’s How!
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SAVED?
Simply put, it means you have been cleared from the penalty which is attached to your sin. Sin is any act of unrighteousness. God requires that all sin must be paid for and that we are accountable for our sinful acts. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
THE NEED FOR SALVATION!
You must realize that you are a sinner. Being a “good person” does not clear you from the penalty of your sins.
Romans 3:23 - “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 - “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 5:8-9 - “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
STEP 1:
Confess that you are a sinner who deserves God’s condemnation, judgment and punishment.
WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED!
The answer is clear and simple enough for all to understand. “...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31). You must believe on Jesus through Faith, and receive Him by Faith as your personal Savior and the full payment for your sins. Hebrews 11:6 tells us: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him (God): for he that cometh to God must believe that He (God) is, and that He (God) is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”
Jesus Christ Is God’s Only
Provision For Man’s Sin.
He is the only ways to God. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).
John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 14:6 - “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
STEP 2:
Believe that God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for your sins and to bridge the gap between you and God the Father.
WHAT WILL NOT SAVE YOU!
• Church attendance or membership alone will not save you.
• Baptism by itself cannot save you.
• Good works or righteous living are commendable acts, but they cannot save you. You must be born again.
YOU MUST MAKE YOUR CONFESSION
Romans 10:9-10: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
STEP 3:
PRAY THIS PRAYER
My Father in Heaven, I confess that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I believe that You sent Your Son Jesus to shed His blood and die for my sins. Right now, I receive Him into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for loving me enough to save me and accept me as Your child. Help me to live and grow in wisdom, righteousness and knowledge that I may please You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
REMEMBER:
You Are A Sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
All Unrepentant Sinners Are Under Condemnation. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23)
Christ Paid For Your Sins. “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit” (1 Peter 3:18)
You Are Saved By Faith In Christ Jesus. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)
God Receives Those Who Receive His Son. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”(John 1:12)
Being A Christian Doesn’t Mean You Are Perfect. It is not possible to be perfect in this life. Perfection comes when we are ushered into the presence of God. This is important to know for many new converts get discouraged when they see they are not living as perfectly as they felt they would. You are a “spiritual baby,” and you need to grow through the Word of God. God will work in you if you let Him.
Your Are Not Saved By Your Feeling. There will be a feeling of peace and joy when we know our sins are forgiven, but this feeling comes as a result of our salvation. It does not produce salvation. Do not base your assurance of salvation on any feeling you have; and do not doubt your salvation because of the lack of feeling.
Finally, visit, research, and unite with a local Bible teaching, Bible believing, Sound Doctrine, Church. Faithfully atend their Bible Study, Sunday School, Prayer and Worship Services. Ask God to direct you to the Church He desires you to join. He will let you know where to go, and if or when to join.
The Bible Says: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:1-2)
